Grow them and they will come…

The spring wildflowers, green grasses, lush creeks and fresh air, are perhaps best experienced at Table Mountain, located just outside of the little mountain town of Cherokee, about a 30 minute drive from Chico. What a great way to spend the Easter weekend.

But, if you go, don’t expect to be alone. This has become a destination for all kinds of people looking to relax and enjoy the area. We set out to find a waterfall that I had been to a few years ago… never did make it to that waterfall, but instead hiked around and found other treasures (and, some happy, California cows).


Along the way, we ran into a gentleman my wife knew, who was guiding the Yahi Group of the Sierra Club through the area. He gave us a topo map he had made, told us the names and locations of various canyons and waterfalls, and helped us identify some of the many varieties of wildflowers. Thanks for the information, Julian. It made our trip that much better. And, we will be back to find that waterfall…
